swim lessons

Now that the summer is here, your kids are ready to experience a break from school that is filled with fun and adventure. Many summer adventures happen in and around the water so it is absolutely vital to make sure your child is a strong swimmer to avoid tragedy. Participation in swimming lessons is an experience every child 12 and under should experience in their childhood to learn swimming and flotation skills that one day may save his or her life. A summer experience of swim lessons in a condensed period of time allows children to progressively build solid swimming skills.

Great Reasons Why Kids Should Learn To Swim

  • Swimming is a great way to play with friends and make new ones.
  • It is a great form of exercise that strengthens the heart and improves lung capacity.
  • Swimming is a low-impact sport that children can participate in for the rest of their lives.
  • Knowing how to swim increases children’s confidence and sense of mastery.
  • Swimming lessons are an investment in your child’s safety that will pay dividends for the rest of their lives

Swim Year-Round for Stronger Skills

For children’s swim skills to truly stick, parents should take advantage of swimming opportunities with their children year-round. This will make sure children have an ample chance to practice their new skills and solidify them. Swimming is a perfect activity for the whole family that allows everyone to be active and have fun together while continuing to practice techniques and strokes that the children have learned in swim lessons. Parents can ask their kids to demonstrate their skills in the pool and give them praise for their efforts. Continued swimming is the best way to ensure that your child will grow up to be a consistently independent and successful swimmer.

Lessons Every Child Should Have

At Penfield Fitness, we feel that the ability to swim is something every child should be able to learn, so we offer swim lessons for babies, toddlers, and kids. The summer sessions of Our No Shiver Swim Program are perfect for busy families. We offer a comfortable introduction to swimming with an 89-degree saltwater pool. Children can focus on the instruction at the swim lessons and not view the pool as an uncomfortable place. We have three summer sessions that are each two weeks long. For each session, classes are held Monday through Thursday. This summer, take the time to give your children the benefit of swimming lessons.
